John Tevlin Selected To Lead Provincial Attraction
August 30, 2010 – TORONTO – Seasoned executive John Tevlin has been selected as the new General Manager of Ontario Place. His appointment follows an open recruitment process and takes effect September 1, 2010.
Tevlin has extensive experience in marketing, operations, strategic planning and general management. His experience includes leadership roles in both the tourism and culture sectors, including President of the CN Tower and the Royal Conservatory of Music Examinations. Past positions have also included Director of Operations (East Africa) and Director of Marketing (Middle East) for Pepsi-Cola International.
A recipient of Canada’s initial Top 40 Under 40 award, Tevlin is also a Co-founding Partner of MJM Consulting which specializes in bringing innovative ideas to market.
As General Manager of Ontario Place, Tevlin will provide leadership, oversee operations, and guide the revitalization of the provincial attraction. Tevlin takes over as General Manager from Tim Casey who has made a significant contribution to Ontario Place in his five months as Acting General Manager.

QUICK FACTS
Ontario Place opened in May 1971 and featured a five pod pavilion complex, an open-air forum, pedal boats, a marina, restaurants and the world’s first IMAX theatre, the Cinesphere.
Today, Ontario Place helps draw thousands of visitors to Toronto with more than 30 rides and attractions spread across 96 acres of beautiful waterfront parkland.
