While Ontario Place is positioned along the parade route, this is only the second time Ontario Place has hosted Scotiabank
Caribana festivities at the park. In July 2009, Scotiabank Caribana was looking for a new home for its Lime party, which
had traditionally taken place on Olympic Island. Ontario Place stepped up and offered to host the event in its newly-built
Heritage Square. Quickly plans were made and finalized and de Scotiabank Caribana Lime was an amazing success. Ontario
Place came alive with Caribbean performances and the smell of delicious food. Almost 15,000 people attended over the
two days of events.
Ontario Place is pleased to continue to build its partnership with Scotiabank Caribana. This relationship represents Ontario
Place’s mandate to support tourism in Ontario and to celebrate the diversity of the City of Toronto, as we do during our
many other Heritage Days.
