Ontario Place 2011 “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2: Enter for your chance to WIN 4-pack 2012 Canadian Family Play All Summer Pass” Contest

Rules and Regulations

  1. The Ontario Place “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2: Enter for your chance to WIN a family 4-pack 2012 Canadian Family Play All Summer Pass” Contest (the “Contest”) runs from Saturday October 29, 2011 at 5:30 PM (EDT) until Sunday October 30, 2011 at 4:30 PM (EDT) (the “Contest Entry Period”). Purchase a “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2” Cinesphere movie ticket for the October 29 or 30 movie and receive a ballot. Completed ballot must be submitted to the Cinesphere box office.
     
  2. Before entering the contest, each entrant must review these Contest Rules and Regulations (the “Rules”). By entering the Contest, the entrants accept and agree to be bound by the Rules.


Eligibility

  1. The Contest is open to all residents of Ontario who have reached the age of 18, except directors, officers, employees, retirees, representatives and agents, including advertising and promotional agents, of Ontario Place Corporation, the Ontario Ministry of Tourism and Culture, IMAX® (collectively, the “Contest Sponsors”) and persons with whom any of the above are domiciled, and members of their respective immediate families.
     
  2. No purchase is required to enter or win. To enter the Contest, entrants must submit their name, address, telephone number and email address along with an essay of at least two hundred fifty (250) words by mail and postmarked by Monday October 31, 2011 to Ontario Place Corporation, 955 Lake Shore Blvd. West, Toronto, Ontario M6K 3B9 (Attention: Promotions). The essay must explain why the entrant should qualify to win a prize package.


Prizes

  1. There will be one (1) prize package (the “Prize”) to be won. The Prize has an approximate value of $267.00 (CDN). The Prize consists of a family 4-pack 2012 Canadian Family Play All Summer Passes.
     
  2. The Sponsors, in their sole discretion and subject to applicable law, reserve the right to substitute the Prizes in whole or in part for something of equal or greater value.
     
  3. Prizes must be accepted as awarded. Except as identified above, no substitutions will be made. The Prizes may not be sold, transferred or assigned, and are not convertible to cash.


The Draw

  1. The potential winner(s) of the Prize(s) will be selected by random draw from all eligible Contest entries received during the Contest Entry Period. The draw will be held Tuesday November 1, 2011 at approximately 11AM at 955 Lake Shore Blvd. West, Toronto, Ontario. The odds of winning will be dependent on the number of eligible Contest entries received during the Contest Entry Period.
     
  2. The selected entrant will be notified by telephone (using the contact information provided by the entrant at the time of entering the Contest) within two (2) business days following the draw. If the selected entrant cannot be contacted in that time, for any reason, then the Prize shall be automatically forfeited by that entrant and no additional draw will be made from among the remaining entries received during the Contest Entry Period. That entrant will be disqualified and will have no recourse toward the Sponsors or anyone involved in the Contest. In order to win, the selected entrant must first correctly answer, unaided, a time-limited, mathematical, skill-testing question to be administered by telephone, and he or she will be required to sign a standard Declaration and Release Form confirming compliance with the Rules, acceptance of the Prize as awarded and releasing the Sponsors from all liability relating to the Contest. It is the winner’s responsibility to arrange the pick-up of their prize package as awarded.
     
  3. Winners are responsible for any transportation costs to and from Ontario Place. All taxes, gratuities, and any other expenses connected with the Prizes not specifically mentioned above are each winner’s sole responsibility.


The Draw

  1. All entries shall automatically become the property of the Ontario Place Corporation and will not be returned.
     
  2. Contest Sponsors shall not be responsible for entries not received or not considered eligible due to incomplete, unclear or indecipherable information, failed or interrupted network connections or other mechanical or technical problems, however caused. Contest Sponsors shall have no liability for lost, stolen, delayed, damaged, destroyed, late or misdirected entries, or for any failure of the Internet or the Ontario Place Corporation website or features on the Ontario Place Corporation website during the Contest Entry Period, or for any other problems, including the failure to have cookies enabled, or mechanical or technical malfunction of, or damage to, any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, for failure of any e-mail or entry to be received by the Contest Sponsors for any reason, for damage to an entrant’s or any other person’s computer or for breaches of privacy due to interference by third party computer “hackers”.
     
  3. By participating, each entrant and selected winner agrees: (a) to release and hold harmless the Contest Sponsors from any and all liability for claims/damages including, but not limited to, claims/damages for personal injury, for property damage with respect to acceptance, possession or use or misuse of the Prize or participation in the Contest; (b) to permit the Contest Sponsors to use his/her name, address, city, photograph, voice, video, or any likeness for advertising or publicity purposes without any additional compensation; and (d) the winners agree to sign a Declaration and Release From to this effect.
     
  4. If the identity of an entrant is disputed, the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at the time of entry will be deemed to be the entrant. The individual assigned to the e-mail address for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address is considered the authorized account holder. A selected entrant may be required to provide proof that s/he is the authorized account holder of the e-mail address associated with the selected entry. All entries must be submitted from a valid e-mail account that may be identified by reverse domain name search. The sole determinant of time for the purposes of receipt of a valid entry in this contest will be the server machine(s) utilized by the Ontario Place Corporation website.
     
  5. Contest Sponsors reserve the right, in their sole and absolute discretion; to cancel or suspend the Contest at any time without notice should a virus, bug or other cause beyond the reasonable control of the Contest Sponsors corrupt the security or proper administration of the Contest. Any attempt to deliberately damage any website or to undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest may be a violation of criminal and civil laws, and should an attempt be made to do so, Contest Sponsors reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution and/or the right to ban and/or disqualify an entrant from this and any future contests involving Ontario Place Corporation.
     
  6. All entries are subject to verification and will be declared invalid if they are illegible, damaged, incomplete, forged, falsified, altered or tampered with in any way. Contest Sponsors shall not be responsible for any errors or omissions in printing or advertising this Contest.
     
  7. Any dispute relating to the Contest (including, without limitation, a dispute as to whether an entrant has complied with all of the Rules shall be resolved by Contest Sponsors, in their sole and absolute discretion, and the decision of Contest Sponsors shall prevail. All decisions of Contest Sponsors shall be final.
     
  8. The Contest and the terms and conditions contained in the Rules shall be governed exclusively by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any dispute arising hereunder shall be adjudicated solely in the applicable court in Toronto, Ontario.
     
  9. Ontario Place Corporation is collecting personal data about entrants received from the entries for the purpose of administering this Contest and future communication. The information collected by Ontario Place Corporation on online entry forms will be used to select and contact Contest winners and potential winners, in accordance with these Contest Rules and Regulations.
